چکیده
Illegal catching of fish stocks beyond the borders India and Sri Lanka by violating International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) fishing communities both countries has become a major international direct environmental conflict between nations. Overexploitation natural resources is keystone problem. It been reported that Indian fishermen are stealing catch worth many millions US dollars annually from Lankan coastal waters. The bilateral agreements 1974 1976 frequently violated. heavy use trawlers not permitted to on seas internationally banned bottom sea nets poachers threats north Lanka. Trawlers flocks unselectively; may include several non-targeted species juvenile stages fish, which leading extinction. Arresting imprisoning guards (and collecting penalties) continue, this an unsustainable way handling issue. trawling since 6th July 2017, sustainable solution beseeched possible greener solutions such as creating awareness, sensitizing fishermen, promoting GPS navigation, also provoked conventional monitoring or patrolling, often lead imprisonment penalties for trespassing seizing trawlers. Restorative coral restoration, mangrove implantation artificial reefs, establishing mutually beneficial ‘no zone’ along IMBL marine reserves (or protected areas) nations facilitate preventing deterioration ensuring their revival in region. Above all, if illegal continues, availability Palk Strait region next ten years will be question.

I address the question of the fluctuations in fishery landings. Using the fishery statistics time-series collected by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations since the early 1950s, I here analyze fishing activities and find two scaling features of capture fisheries production: (i) the standard deviation of growth rate of the domestically landed catches decays as a power-law ...
